Morocco is a North African country with a population of over 34 million people and a life expectancy at birth of 73 years (male) and 75 years (female). The country joined the UHC Partnership in January 2016 to strengthen health systems towards the goal of universal health coverage, with an initial focus on three priority areas: governance, health financing, and human resources for health. As the Ministry of Health prepares a National Health Strategy to succeed the 2012-16 plan, it is receiving support from WHO on key initiatives including decentralizing health administration, enhancing strategic purchasing, and surveying the satisfaction level of health professionals to improve motivation and ultimately quality of service delivery. You can access important country documents by clicking here.
